The four day introduction to wedding hair class is suitable for beginners, and students who already have some experience of hair styling - we go right back to basics and cover everything you need to know to start a career in hair styling.

Our classes are friendly, relaxed and with 2 students maximum, so you will get lots of 1-1 support and guidance.

Your tutor will be happy for you to take photos, videos and notes and to answer any questions you have throughout. 

​

We will provide everything you will need - hair products, heated appliances, grips, pins, extensions and padding along with tea,

coffee and snacks.

DAY 1

 

Introduction, Down Styles and Soft Up-Styles Demonstrations

Health and safety overview

Evaluating different hair types

Demonstrations from your tutor and some practical work on a dolly head to include:

-Prepping hair correctly for various hair types and use of products

-Tonging hair to create classic curls and modern beach waves.

-Plaiting techniques: french plaits, dutch braids, bubble braids, waterfall plaits

-Half-up styles

-Relaxed up-styles

DAY 2

Brief Recap Of Day 1

Practical Session On A Live Model

​

Day 2 is predominantly a practical and portfolio building session - recreating your favourite styles from the first day's demonstrations.

You will have time to test out your new found knowledge to create different hairstyles with lots of support given from your tutor who will be on hand to help and guide you.

To further compliment your hair styles we have lots of hair accessories, fresh flowers and bridal outfits for your model to wear which will really vamp up your images. 

Once your styles are completed, we will teach you how to take the best images of your work, how to position your model, whcih angles are the most flattering and how to find the best light and backgrounds. You can use these photos to show off your new skills to potential clients and social media followers.

We ask that you to bring your own model (someone with hair past shoulder length) to work on. If this is not possible we can book a model for you for an additional charge.

 

 

DAY 3

Sleek Up-Styles And Intro To Hollywood Waves Demonstrations

​

Demonstrations from your tutor and some practical work on a dolly head to include:

-Prepping hair correctly for various hair types and use of products

-Sleek buns and modern chic up-styles, use of padding.

-Creating volume on fine hair.

-Use of clip in hair extensions

-Intro to Hollywood Waves

-Business advice & a chance to ask any questions

-Practice learnt techniques on a dolly head  

 

 

DAY 4

Brief Recap Of Day 3

Practical session on a live model

Day 4 is predominantly a practical and portfolio building session - recreating your favourite styles from the third day's demonstrations.

You will have time to test out your new found knowledge to create different hairstyles with lots of support given from your tutor who will be on hand to help and guide you.

Laura Anne is a bridal hair & makeup specialist offering expert knowledge from her years of experience working in the fashion and wedding industry.

Her fun, friendly and calming nature make her an incredible teacher.

Laura has a dance background so hair and makeup has been a part of her life from a very young age with her professional experience spanning over 15 years originally training at the age of 18 at Newcastle college then furthering her studies in Los Angeles at the prestigious Hollywood makeup school - Elegance International. Her go to style for hair and makeup is modern, fresh and chic.

What do I need to bring?

Someone with mid length to long hair to model for you on the second and fourth day. (We can provide a model for you if this is not possible)
